Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance has created a new screening and immunisation resource hub to improve uptake to the cervical screening programme.

It explains the cervical screening programme, provides resources for healthcare professionals to support uptake plus links to more information about cervical screening. Find it here: SSCA Cervical Screening

Cervical Screening Awareness Poster Don't Ignore Portrait.jpgThe SSCA resource hub also includes new posters and social media assets created by NHSE South East's Surrey & Sussex Screening & Immunisation Team to be used during Cervical Screening Awareness Week. The assets encourage uptake to the cervical screening programme, bust myths and provide practical information on how to book an appointment. They can be downloaded and used in patient waiting rooms, community settings and in social media.

NHS south east has produced these three social media assets which can be downloaded and used during Cervical Screening Awareness Week:

Photo shows a young woman called Megan and the words I didn’t want to do it, but it never crossed my mind not to go because I know how important cervical screening is. I had my first screening just before I was 25 and they found abnormal cells. Thankfully, these were treated and I am now okay and I attend regular routine screening.

An image of a young woman called Sian with the words Early detection saved my life. Thanks to the NHS and a timely cervical screening, my cancer was caught early and treated quickly. Missing that appointment could have changed everything. Don’t wait. Book your cervical screening when invited, or remind someone you care about. It could save a life.

a phot of a young woman called Morgan with the words I booked my first cervical screening as soon as I received my letter. I was a bit nervous after reading some comments online, but I like to take control of my health where I can. The screening was so quick and easy and the nurse was super relaxed and made me feel comfortable. Don’t trust everything you read online. Book the appointment and normalise talking about cervical screening with your friends.
