Inherited risk of pancreatic cancer - what you need to know and what you need to do next

 Wednesday, 22 November 1pm-2pm.

Join us, guest speakers from EUROPAC, the European Registry of Hereditary Pancreatic Diseases, and clinical experts for this one-hour free online webinar on Wednesday, 22 November 1-2pm: `Inherited risk of pancreatic cancer - what you need to know and what you need to do next’.

Healthcare professionals can now refer people with a family history of pancreatic cancer to EUROPAC for annual surveillance. This webinar will explain the referral process, the patient journey and the steps needed to ensure all eligible patients are registered.

Around 10% of pancreatic cancers are caused by hereditary factors. These occur in families with a history of either pancreatic cancer or hereditary pancreatitis or who carry an at-risk genetic mutation predisposing to these conditions. NICE guidance (NG85) recommends pancreatic cancer surveillance for people with inherited high risk factors.

Surrey and Sussex, Kent and Medway, Wessex and Peninsula cancer alliances all refer into the same point of contact at EUROPAC - cancer navigator Beata Gubacsi - who will present at the webinar. The nearest surveillance centres for patients within these cancer alliances are:

  • University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
  • University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Who is this webinar for?

The event is aimed at all healthcare professionals across secondary and primary care. Anyone who has a touch point with patients who have a family history of pancreatic cancer should join.
